Tetric N-Ceram is a light-curing, radiopaque nano-hybrid composite based on nano-optimized technology for direct restorative procedures.

It can be universally applied to restore teeth in the anterior and posterior region. Its nano-optimized filler technology is responsible for the material’s unique chameleon effect and natural esthetic results. Tetric N-Ceram demonstrates an exceptionally high level of radiopacity and thus significantly facilitates the diagnosis of secondary caries.

Tetric N-Ceram is available in 18 shades – 11 enamel, 3 dentin, 1 incisal and 3 bleach shades. It is supplied in both syringes and Cavifils. The Tetric N-Ceram shade range comprises eleven universal materials. Depending on the requirements, they can be combined with three Dentin, one Transpa or three Bleach shades.

Key Specifications

Composition

Tetric N-Ceram consists of dimethacrylates (19-20 wt.%). The fillers contain barium glass, ytterbium trifluoride, mixed oxide and copolymers (80-81 wt.%). Additives, initiators, stabilizers and pigments are additional contents (< 1 wt.%). The total content of inorganic fillers is 55–57 vol.%. The particle size of inorganic fillers is between 40 nm and 3000 nm.

Storage temperature: 2-28 °C (36-82 °F)

1 x 3.5g Syringe

Directions to use:

Preparation:

  • Prepare the tooth or teeth that require restoration by cleaning, removing decay or damaged material, and ensuring proper isolation.

Shade Selection:

  • Select the appropriate shade of Tetric N-Ceram from the 18 available options to match the patient's natural tooth color.

Application:

  • Apply Tetric N-Ceram to the prepared tooth surface in layers of up to 2 mm (or 1.5 mm if using a Dentin shade) using suitable instruments.
  • Contour and adapt the material to the cavity walls for a proper fit.

Polymerization:

  • Polymerize each layer individually using a suitable curing light. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for the specific light-curing unit you are using.
  • Ensure that the light emission window is as close as possible to the surface of the restorative material.

Finishing and Polishing:

  • After polymerization, finish the restoration using suitable finishers or fine diamond instruments.
  • Check and adjust the occlusion to ensure proper alignment.
  • Polish the restoration with silicone polishers (e.g., OptraPol) to achieve a smooth and aesthetically pleasing surface.
